FAQ
Our Chiropractors Answer Common Questions
Like other Highland Heights chiropractors, we hear many questions from new and current chiropractic patients. Here are some of the most common questions and answers…
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system of natural health care which evaluates our structural, biochemical and mental aspects. Nutrition, manipulation, diet, acupressure, exercise and education are used therapeutically to help restore balance and maintain well being, throughout life. Professionals from all disciplines including chiropractic, M.D.’s, osteopaths, dentists and other doctors are now using it.
Why do you use muscle testing?
Muscles move bones, bones don’t move muscles. Testing the strength and function of your body’s muscles helps the doctor to see where you have imbalances and weakness which can cause pain and dysfunction. Your Highland Heights OH chiropractor aligns your bones with the chiropractic adjustment and then strengthens your weak muscles so the muscles will hold your bones in alignment.
How can Chiropractic help with my allergies, stomach issues or other health problems?
The master control system of the body is the Brain and nervous system. The brain uses nerves to create a connection and communication pathways for all of the muscles, organs and tissues of the body. Chiropractic adjustments stimulate the brain and nervous system that effect the various systems of the body. The effects from the adjustment equate to a better functioning body.
What is so special about your nutritional supplements?
It’s all about quality. We use only supplements that are organic, fresh and synergistic with the human body. Many of our products can only be found at Doctor’s offices.
How long will I need to be treated for?
The Doctor treats every patient according to his or her own needs. Treatment plans vary on the severity of the patients complaint. Our philosophy here at The Highland Wellness Center is if we help the patient get better in the shortest possible time the patient is more likely to refer family and friends to our office.
Spinal decompression has saved many people from spinal surgery. Spinal decompression is a non-surgical, traction based treatment for herniated or bulging discs in the low back and neck. Some common conditions we use spinal decompression for are herniated discs, sciatica, facet syndrome, spinal stenosis, failed surgery.
